Breaking: Roman Baths Found in York England

York Roman Baths

Archaeologists excavating the site of a new City Council building in York England have uncovered the site of the Roman baths that served the citizens of the city. Dating from the time of the Emperor Constantine whose stronghold was at York, the Baths were likely used by the civilian population as the military had their own on the other side of the Ouse River.  I used to walk past the site every day on my way home from the University of York Archaeology Department atThe King's Manor.  The York Press and the BBC both have the story up.
