At
the top of the federal government, even a brief shutdown of "core NSA
operations" is unthinkable. But at the grassroots, a permanent shutdown
of the NSA should be more than thinkable; we should strive to make it
achievable.

Now it's clear how "invisible" al-Zawahiri and wily Bandar Bush have
appropriated Washington's "strategy" to really get what they want.
The
Westagate shopping mall attack shows that ever-indreasing violence
claims lives but doesn't make any difference on issues. However,
ensuring our security becomes increasingly tricky too unless we turn to
prevention and mediation.

Fed
chairman Ben Bernanke shocked the world on September 18 when he
announced there would be no change in the Fed's $85 billion-per-month
asset purchase program dubbed QE. Bernanke forged ahead without
developing a coherent exit strategy. That's a big no-no; you never want
to paint yourself into a corner especially when trillions of dollars and
the stability of the financial system are at stake.
The
Republicans want to shut down the government -- again. They want to
destroy The Affordable Care Act -- again. Has there ever been a
political party in the history of America that has done so much damage
to this government, the nation and its people? Enough is enough, it's
time for the American people to shut this political party down and end
its reign of obstruction and destruction.
I
have spent the last several days in a Breaking Bad fever dream, asking
myself, "Who is the Walter White/Heisenberg of the sports world?" I am
very aware that I couldn't come up with a hackier First Take--style
question unless I was asking what sports commissioner is most like Miley
Cyrus.
Nanomedicine,
refers to highly specific medical intervention at the molecular level
for curing disease or repairing damaged tissues. Though in its infancy,
could we be looking at the future of medicine? Early clinical trials
certainly look promising.
The
general in charge of all US nuclear offensive forces has suspended his
deputy, Navy Vice Adm. Tim Giardina, over his suspected role in a casino
scandal that involved "a significant monetary amount" of counterfeit
gambling chips. Air Force Gen. Robert Kehler suspended Giardina on
September 3 without publicly announcing the move.
Don't worry ... that bridge you're driving over won't collapse. Probably.
Many bridges were built to last 50 years--more than 50 years ago. Today, politicians insist the government doesn't have enough money to fix or replace them, and of course, the amount required gets bigger as time passes and bridges get older. It's a simple choice for government: What's the priority, safe bridges (combined with job creation repairing or replacing them) or low taxes on billionaires? Of course, we know the Republican answer to that question, and it ain't safety and jobs.

Huge

American named William Walker -- the dream of building a canal across
the Central American republic of Nicaragua. More direct and therefore
