A poll conducted jointly by The University of Texas and The Texas Tribune has found that a majority of Texans believe that the federal government is likely to order a “domestic military intervention” to arrest political protesters and violate property rights.
The poll was conducted primarily to discover whether Texans felt Governor Greg Abbott was correct in his actions to send the Texas State Guard to monitor the Jade Helm military exercises in Central Texas, which many are concerned are part of a larger drill for a future domestic military takeover.
The poll found that 39 percent agreed with the Governor’s actions, while 28 percent opposed them. A whopping 32 percent had no opinion on the matter.

It is the poll’s other findings, however, that are most revealing.
Respondents were asked if they feel that a “federal military intervention” is likely in several different situations. Strikingly, large numbers of Texans replied in the affirmative.

More than half said that they felt it was “very” or “somewhat” likely that the military would be deployed domestically to arrest political protesters.
A further 50 percent noted that they think it likely that the federal government would use US troops in order to actively violate citizens’ property rights.
In other words, most Texans are actually expecting some form of a military takeover at some point.
A large number, 44 percent, also believe that the military is likely to be used to impose martial law, while the same amount think troops would be asked to confiscate firearms from US citizens.
The poll even found that almost one third of Democrats believe the military will be used to impose martial law, while 40 percent think it is likely troops will be used against protesters.
“You put federal government into it and people’s skepticism and their concern really rises,” said Daron Shaw, professor of government at UT-Austin.
“It cuts into everybody’s suspicion,” Shaw said. “Nobody trusts the federal government. About a third of Democrats are concerned about the government going nuts. Among Republicans, it’s between 55 percent and two-thirds.”
“What we’re picking up here are feelings ranging from skepticism to outright hostility toward the federal government on the part of many Texas Republicans,” he said. “It’s hard not to think that Republicans’ extremely unfavorable views of President Obama further fuel these feelings.”

A cluster of mysterious bright spots on dwarf planet Ceres can be seen in this image. A variety of craters and other geological features can be found on dwarf planet Ceres. NASA’s Dawn spacecraft took this image of Ceres from an altitude of 2,700 miles (4,400 kilometers) on June 5, 2015.
The mystery surrounding the dwarf planet Ceres continues to thicken: New images taken by the Dawn probe have revealed a three-mile high pyramid shaped peak, while also giving updated photographs of the planet’s puzzling bright spots.
The craft took the photographs on June 9 from a distance of 2,700 miles (4,300 kilometers). It revealed a number of new geographical characteristics, in particular, the high peak that juts out from the surrounding landscape.
“The surface of Ceres has revealed many interesting and unique features. For example, icy moons in the outer solar system have craters with central pits, but on Ceres central pits in large craters are much more common. These and other features will allow us to understand the inner structure of Ceres that we cannot sense directly,” said Carol Raymond, deputy principal investigator for the Dawn mission, based at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
A cluster of mysterious bright spots on dwarf planet Ceres can be seen in this image, taken by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft on June 9, 2015.
The Dawn spacecraft has been orbiting around the Ceres dwarf planet since March 6, which is found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The new images also helped to shed some light on the planets bright spots, which are located in a crater, which is about 55 miles in length.
“The bright spots in this configuration make Ceres unique from anything we’ve seen before in the solar system. The science team is working to understand their source,” Dawn principal investigator Chris Russell of the University of California, Los Angeles said in a statement last week.
“Reflection from ice is the leading candidate in my mind, but the team continues to consider alternate possibilities, such as salt,” the Christian Science Monitor reported.
Dawn will continue at its current altitude until June 30 and will continue to take images of Ceres. However, it will then descend to an altitude of 900 miles (1.450 kilometers) in early August, which will bring it even closer to the dwarf planet.
This image, taken by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft on June 14, 2015, shows an intriguing mountain on dwarf planet Ceres protruding from a relatively smooth area.
On April 13, photographs were released from the NASA probe, which first showed two bright spots, which have been puzzling space experts.
On visible light images taken beforehand, the two anomalous spots appear bright white, leading to speculations about so-called cryovolcanoes. But the newly-released infrared photos show that the spots have completely differing thermal properties.
“This dwarf planet was not just an inert rock throughout its history. It was active, with processes that resulted in different materials in different regions. We are beginning to capture that diversity in our color images,” Chris Russell, principal investigator for the Dawn mission, said.
Scientists are still not sure if the spots are water, ice, or “hydrated minerals,” but they can say for sure that stable ice would be problematic so close to the sun.
Furthermore, the neighboring Vesta asteroid and Ceres shine differently from each other and, as well as possess different types of craters – both observations hinting at completely different histories.

Britain is reportedly set to build a 2-mile fence at the Channel Tunnel to stop migrants from boarding UK-bound trains.
Home Secretary Theresa May has said she wanted to send a “very clear message” that people will not be able to get through to the UK through this, the Daily Mail reported.
She said, “We are working very closely with the French authorities on this issue. We have been doing a number of things to increase security around the port.
“We are making a number of changes at Calais to increase security, we’re also going to be putting some extra security fencing at Coquelle at the entrance to the Tunnel.”
The report says migrants have been trying to hide in vehicles waiting to board Channel Tunnel services at Coquelles and at the ferry port of Calais.
It says some 3,000 people are now living in a makeshift camp at Calais while attempting to find a way to reach Britain.
Her comments come as the UK Foreign Office has warned British travelers to lock their doors in slow moving traffic and secure vehicles when left unattended.
Last year, the UK Border Force stopped 39,000 third world invading scum from trying to enter Britain illegally, twice the figure seen in 2013, according to Daily Mail.

With racial tensions at an all time high, it’s curious the corporate media has remained virtually silent on the death of an internet blogger suspected of brutally attacking several Asian women in Manhattan over the past month.
The body of Tyrell Shaw, 25, the black man who ran a blog called “Mr. Talented,” was found Monday, dead from an apparent suicide.
An apartment landlord said he found Shaw’s body at the bottom of an elevator shaft outfitted in what appeared to be a silver space suit.
Police suspect Shaw was responsible for several recent racist attacks that targeted Asian women in the area.
On his blog, Shaw indicated he intended to wage a “civil war” on Asian women after being rejected numerous times.
“By starting an independent civil war where I will hit over a million Asian Women [sic] in the face with a stick will change history,” the blogger bizarrely stated on his site.

“So I think its [sic] brilliant to give all Asian Women a legitimate reason to hate me.”
In a blog post, Shaw says he had come to the conclusion that Asian women “would never take me serious, because of the color of my skin.”
“In less than 350 days, I talked to nearly 1500 Asian Women and none of them took time out of their day to say hello,” Shaw states. “I became furious. I never agreed with violence, but I knew the only way I could overcome that sense of rejection-would start by assaulting the Women that carelessly rejected me.”
“Suddenly,” Shaw continues, “I assumed the ones that I am attracted to use cocaine so I decided to play a game. Bash Asian Women in the Nose so that they could stop sniffing cocaine and give me a chance” – a practice he deemed “The Nose Game” in a likely reference to the notorious “knockout game.”
According to police, Shaw launched his first “nose game” attack on June 10 when he followed a 35-year-old woman into Chinatown and asked her “Who is the president of the United States?”
“When she didn’t respond, police said, he walked away, then returned with a white plastic bag containing a hard object and hit her in the face,” reports NBC New York.
From their report:
About four hours later, a 29-year-old Asian woman was walking down Park Avenue near East 30th Street when the suspect walked past her and waited at the corner, police said. He hit her in the face with the bag when she reached the corner; she was treated at a hospital and released.
Two days later, on June 12, the same suspect attacked a 34-year-old woman walking near Second Avenue and East 60th Street. As in the earlier cases, he walked up to her, armed with the white bag containing the hard object, and bashed her in the forehead. She also was treated at a hospital.
The woman in that case said the man spoke to her, saying, “All Asian girls doesn’t talk to me,” the victim told NBC 4 New York. She said he complained he could never get their phone numbers; she said she ignored him.
“And then, just after next second, he just hit my face,” the woman said.
She said she chased the man after the attack, but stopped when she realized she was covered in blood. The woman needed 10 stitches to close a gash above her eye. She said the wound is so painful that she can’t work.
One of Shaw’s last posts stated he would tie a noose to the bottom of an elevator and wait for someone to push the button “so that its [sic] not considered a practical suicide. This is actually murder. Thank you. I love you.”
On his blog, Shaw is photographed with numerous celebrities, including comedians Aziz Ansari and Tracy Morgan, actor Russell Crowe and TV’s Judge Judy.
Police say they’d had numerous run-ins with the blogger, and residents of the building where Shaw was found dead said he’d been squatting in one of the building’s closets for up to six months.
With the leftist establishment media attempting to stoke racial tensions by highlighting attacks on black Americans by whites, it’s interesting to note they’ve turned a blind eye on this story, which doesn’t neatly fit their race war-igniting initiative.

Facial recognition is the automatic identification of a person from a digital image or a video frame.
Churches around the world have started to secretly keep tabs on their congregants with facial recognition software.
Around 30 churches from countries such as the US, Indonesia, India, and Portugal have started to use Churchix, a specialized program designed for religious institutions by an American-Israeli company called Face-Six, RT reported on Tuesday.
“In the beginning, I was surprised. We never thought of churches as potential clients, but we now understand the need. Most churches do already keep track of their members,” said Moshe Greenshpan, the CEO of the company.
The big-brother style software compares CCTV footage or pictures of churchgoers against a database of high-resolution images complied by the church, he said, adding that it can be used to monitor attendance and alert the institution if someone stops coming to the services.
It can also be used as a security system to alert the church when blacklisted individuals such as local criminals and sex offenders try to gain entry, he noted.
The Face-Six CEO explained that the software works better if openly used with visitors voluntarily looking at the camera at a check point, adding that churches prefer not to draw attention to such actions.
“I don’t think churches tell people,” said Greenshpan . “We encourage them to do so, but I don’t think they do. The major question is, should the church keep track of members when they attend events, whether it is manually, or electronically?”

A controversial trial of genetically modified (GM) wheat has failed to repel pests any more effectively than ordinary crops, scientists have found.
Researchers attempted to engineer a variety of wheat to emit an odor that deters aphids in the hope of reducing the amount of pesticides required by plants.
The crops, nicknamed “whiffy wheat,” were successful in lab tests, but succumbed to aphids when trialed in the field.
The experiment cost £3m, some £2.2m of which was spent on fencing and other security measures to protect the trial from animals and saboteurs.
Campaign group GM Freeze said the experiment was a waste of money and further evidence of the “folly” of investing in GM technology.
Agricultural institution Rothamsted Research ran the trial in Hertfordshire from 2012 to 2013.
Scientists had hoped to create a strain of wheat capable of deterring aphids – such as greenfly and blackfly – from eating the crops and spreading infections.
They changed the structure of the plants to produce a natural pheromone – commonly found in peppermint – which aphids release when attacked by predators.
Researchers hoped the modified plants would no longer need to be sprayed with insecticides.
While lab tests found the pheromone worked as a highly effective repellent, field tests revealed there was no difference between modified crops and conventional plants.
Senior molecular biologist Professor Hew Jones, who worked on the trial, said: “As scientists we are trained to treat our experimental data objectively and dispassionately, but I was definitely disappointed.
“We had hoped that this technique would offer a way to reduce the use of insecticides in pest control in arable farming. As so often happens, this experiment shows that the real world environment is much more complicated than the laboratory.”
GM Freeze said the experiment was a waste of public money.
Its director Liz O’Neill said: “The waste of over £1m of public funding on a trial confirms the simple fact that when GM tries to outwit nature, nature adapts in response.”
Speaking to the BBC, author and campaigner Tony Juniper raised concerns about the wider implications of GM crops.
The former Executive Director of Friends of the Earth said there is still concern about the impact of GM crop ownership, via patents, on the global food system.
Juniper said: “I still believe the industry is finding it hard to prove a role for itself and that conversations going on around more integrated approaches to farming – that rely less on technological ‘silver bullets’ – have more potential than the pursuit of GM methods, that often miss the point as to what the actual problem is.
“Then there are the issues about who controls the technology, via patents, contracts and royalty payments, and how the widespread uptake of GM farming could have profound impacts in terms of how power is distributed across the food system.”
